The Sports Authority of India on behalf of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India will award National level and State level scholarships for the year 2006-07.to the sports persons studying in recognized schools/colleges/universities who have secured first/second or third position in individual events or winner / runners-up position in team events in the recognized international, national or state level competitions Including State School competitions conducted between the period from 1-1-2005 to 31-12-2005, subject to fulfilling other eligibility conditions. Special Scholarships are also available for unemployed women champions above 19 years of age, who have secured first /second /third position in the recognized Senior Nationals in individual events only, conducted between 1-1-05 to 31-12-05. Eligible sportspersons should write to the Regional Director, SAI NS NIS, Moti Bagh, Patiala-147001 (Punjab) for details and prescribed application form. The last date for receipt of applications duly completed in all respect is 30-9-2006.
